The 3rd Consortium Meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus, focused on project milestones and next steps towards advancing TRL. The group toured the KIOS Infrastructure and enjoyed traditional Cypriot cuisine. Thanks to KIOS and the University of Cyprus for hosting and coordinating.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) team presented the COCOON project at the 7th International Conference on Smart Energy Systems in Turin, Italy, in September 2024. Researchers Georgios Kryonidis and Stelios Dimoulias shared their work on ancillary services for distribution networks, highlighting their ongoing contributions to the project.
The COCOON Team from the European Network for Cyber Security participated in the 5th International Workshop on Electrical Power and Energy Systems Safety, Security, and Resilience (EPESec) in Vienna. They presented our project and joined a panel on cybersecurity risks related to IT/OT convergence and new distributed resources. Kudos to Elvira S. and Salvatore Maccarrone for their outstanding presentation.
Prof. Alex Ștefanov attended the IEEE PES General Meeting in Seattle, presenting Delft University of Technology’s work on cyber-physical power systems. He also connected with Prof. Mathaios Panteli from the University of Cyprus for further academic collaboration.
Prof. Charis Demoulias and Dr. Kyriaki-Nefeli Malamaki of AUTH presented their work on State of Charge Control for Energy Storage Systems at IEEE MELECON 2024 in Porto, in collaboration with Prof. Juan Manuel Mauricio from the Universidad de Sevilla.
Ingelectus participated in Intersolar, the world’s top solar industry exhibition, featuring 3,000 exhibitors. David Señas Sanvicente and Luna Moreno Díaz represented Ingelectus, gaining insights for the Spain pilot of our project. This event provided a prime networking opportunity to explore the latest trends and business models in the solar market.
